Croc Legend of the Gobbos: January 2026 Update
Hi Everyone,
We know that it has taken far too long to get the physical editions of Croc Legends of the Gobbos into your hands. Simply put, the delays have been unacceptable.
As a young startup, we have learned important lessons through this process. In hindsight, launching the preorder campaign before the game was fully completed was a mistake and offering it for preorder prior to final mastering was the wrong call.
We want to be transparent about where we are in the publishing process today. Since the announcement of our publishing agreement with Argonaut Games for the Collector’s Edition and Regular Edition of the Croc remaster, we have released several physical titles successfully, including:
● The Smile Alchemist (PS5)
● Real Heroes: Firefighter (PS5)
● Volgarr the Viking II (PS5)
We have also begun physical production of Volgarr the Viking II for Nintendo Switch.
On the digital side, we have published:
● Jaleco Sports: Bases Loaded (Steam, GOG, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch)
● Jaleco Sports: Goal! (Steam, GOG, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch)
The key difference with all the titles above is that they were completed before we offered them for sale.
In consultation with Rock It, Argonaut made the decision to enhance the digital versions of Croc by announcing the Croc “Platinum Edition” on all platforms. This not only added the much-requested Platinum Trophy to the PS5 but also added additional Trophies/Achievements to all versions, introduced Achievements to the Switch version, added a new “Time Attack” play mode, new content to the extensive Crocipedia and numerous other fixes and upgrades.
We agreed with this decision because we knew that many of our customers wanted the physical disc and cartridge versions of the game to be feature complete for posterity. This is one of the core reasons why physical versions are in demand over digital versions. However, the unavoidable consequence of this upgrade meant delays in the mastering, approval process and physical manufacture of the disc and cartridge with Sony and Nintendo respectively. It was a tough decision, but both Argonaut and Rock It ultimately decided that this was the best solution for physical edition collectors.
Going forward, Rock It as a company has committed to only offering games once development is complete and our delivery timelines are fully under our control.
The silver lining, or in this case, Platinum lining is that the final production quality of Croc has greatly exceeded even our high expectations. We truly believe that you're going to love both the Regular and Collector's Editions!
The majority of the special items are completed, manufactured, and ready to go, or in a couple of cases very close to completion, per this itemized breakdown:
Current Status by Edition
PlayStation 5 – Collector's Platinum Edition
● Game Disc: Approved for production by Sony (Platinum Edition updates included)
● CD Soundtrack: Arriving in our warehouse by the end of January
● Statue: Complete
● Poster: Complete
● Keychain: Complete
● Sticker Sheet: Arriving in our warehouse before the end of January
● Full-Color Printed Manual: Content complete. Design and layout in late stages. Expected to be in our warehouse by February.
● Certificate of Authenticity - Design and layout complete. Currently being printed, with an ETA to be in our warehouse by the end of January.
Nintendo Switch – Collector's Platinum Edition
● The Switch cartridge version has now reached the same production milestones as the PS5 version.
PS5 & Switch – Regular Platinum Editions
● All components are approved except for the printed manual as noted above.
Gobbo Plush
● Plush items have arrived at our warehouse. Individual orders will begin this month.
T-Shirts
● T-Shirts have already begun shipping if purchased individually, if you purchased one with a game, they will be shipped together.
